Salvador Costa, a Spaniard, was in the U.K, just at the time punk was exploding-- a couple of years before the 'canon' of leading bands (a most 'unpunk' concept, I know!) had yet to crystallize. This his remarkable 1977 book published when Costa got back to Barcelona, thus shows us a cross section of the legendary (The Jam, XTC, Johnny Rotten) and the more or less forgotten (The Cortinas, Cherry Vanilla, Johnny Moped). To say that what he captured on film sent shock waves through the rock audience just emerging from the authoritarian funk of the Franco period would be an understatement. Awesome period piece!
